MISSION: HIANC is a nonprofit organization with a mission to preserve and promote Indian heritage and culture by increasing community awareness, understanding, and appreciation of Indian culture through performing arts and educational programs.

OBJECTIVES: HIANC's objectives are:

1. To increase awareness and appreciation of Indian cultural heritage among people of Indian origin and others residing in the Triangle area through activities in performing arts, fine arts, and literary arts;

2. To promote understanding and goodwill between members of the Indian- American community and residents of the Triangle community at large through educational and cultural activities;

3. To arrange social, educational, and cultural programs to enhance Indian American children's understanding of their heritage and cultural traditions;

4. To collaborate with other organizations in the Triangle area in activities of mutual interest;

5. To provide community services within reach of the resources of HIANC; and

6. To encourage and promote local Indian-American artists.
